Identify Natterer’s and Bechstein’s Bat Calls

It should be understood that the reliability of this key is significantly reduced in Long-Eared and Myotis Bats. The variability of the calls of Myotis and Plecotus bats, and their preference for woodland habitats with all its associated difficulties for bat detector work, mean that identifications of these species must be treated with caution. In woodland, it is unlikely that realistic identifications of these bats can be made below the genus level.
